Autumn 2023 has arrived and brings with it an abundance of beautiful colors. The De Jong family of flower store De Jong Fleuriade in Enkhuizen shares their vision of the autumn trends of 2023 with a beautifully composed bouquet of Greenflor flowers.
Family business De Jong Fleuriade
In 2009, when a beautiful church in Enkhuizen became available, the De Jong family did not hesitate for a moment. For fifteen years, De Jong Fleuriade has been located in this special place with endless possibilities. The flower store is a family business passed down from generation to generation.
Art and flowers
What the store really excels at is the color combinations and loose, artful layout of the floral arrangements. Owner Klaas De Jong takes pride in the fact that his team excels at this and knows their customers well. Once a year, the store is transformed into an exhibition space, completely filled with works of art. Flowers and art are matched to create a unique experience.
The De Jong family has been purchasing flowers from Greenflor’s buyer and seller Gerard de Ruijter for 20 years. The cooperation is very nice. “Greenflor has a wide range of flowers and always of good quality. Also, they are not those standard flowers and you can pick apart flowers that you can really make something unique with!”, says an enthusiastic Madelon, daughter and florist in the flower store.
The Fall Trends of 2023
Autumn is truly the most beautiful time for flowers, with an abundance of colors and varieties. Products in warm tones like orange and burgundy, think lanterns, Sanguisorba and rose hips, are in high demand right now. “Small or large, they go like hotcakes!” said Madelon. These products last a very long time. Moreover, you also see more purple, old pink and red shades these days, such as dyed-through hydrangeas that really create that warm autumn atmosphere.
“The fall trends of 2023 are airy and lush, with lots of grasses. A few years ago, this was unthinkable; back then, full bouquets were the norm. Nowadays, it can’t be airy enough and tends toward minimalist.”

In the autumn bouquet that florist Rianne De Jong composed especially for us with Greenflor products, the hydrangea shines with its beautiful autumn colors.
